When you were deciding to switch software companies, what drew you to Passare?

 

The initial reason was I wanted a software system that was cloud based and wasn’t going to require an internal server. That was my number one goal. Also, I wanted a software that would grow and adapt with me through the years. On top of that, the Collaboration Center was a big draw for me because it allows us to offer an online option to families, and hopefully, will help us with our preneed pipeline in the future.

 

What would you say are some of the biggest benefits of using Passare for you and your staff?

 

A big asset is not having to do double entry; we save so much time and have a much higher efficiency rate because we don’t have to re-enter the same data in multiple places. Also, I love Passare’s willingness to grow and listen to their customers. If there’s something that we come up with that might be innovative, Passare makes it happen. For example, it used to take us about an hour and a half to complete register books from start to finish. Now, we can get register books done in just 20 minutes. That includes the register book, memorial folders, and the ability to export into 
Messenger. That’s a huge time-savings benefit!

 

Are there any particular features you're enjoying within Passare?

 

The integration capability has been an enormous asset, especially since we can connect with other partner companies like Funeral Directors Life and CLAIMCHECK directly. With these integrations, we don’t have to go to multiple software systems to get things done; it’s all through Passare. Another thing we like to use is the reporting feature because we enjoy building reports for different purposes. For instance, we have a report for aftercare services follow-up and another one for tracking accounts receivable. The best part is that these reports are available at our fingertips any 
time we need them. And lastly, another feature I’ll mention is the customization. We’ve detailed our dashboards to our own specifications so that it fits our needs and preferences.

 

Have you used Planning Center with families? If so, how have they responded?

 

Families have responded positively to it. Many use the Planning Center for vital statistics, but the most widely used feature is the obituary section. Families can read and revise the obituary with each other, and we can help and answer questions along the way. Plus, because families can access the Planning Center from a home computer or their cell, it's a great way to involve out-of-town family members in the planning process. Additionally, they can also track service planning progress and view checklists to see what everyone is working on. It allows us to have transparent communication with the families we serve.

 

How have your staff responded to Passare?

 

I started using Passare back when I was more of a one-man operation, so a lot of the current staff members joined after Passare was well established here. But even so, it was a smooth training process for them, and they found it easy to learn. My office staff uses the software the most and they don't ever complain about difficulty of use. Passare really helps them easily manage all the tasks they have to complete each day. 

 

How would you rate the customer service that you've received from Passare?

 

Excellent. If we have an issue or an idea that we’ve come up with, they never say, “No, we can’t do that.” It’s always, “Let me figure it out.” For customer service, that’s rare. Also, they welcome customer-driven ideas and are always growing and adapting. Because Passare is so progressive with their changes, it has allowed us to accomplish a lot more than we ever thought possible. 

 

If you were to talk to another funeral professional about Passare, what would you tell them about the software?

 

I would tell them that Passare is easy to use and self-explanatory. Altogether, it really is an affordable option, and it will improve your efficiencies. If there’s a way to streamline something, the Passare team will make it happen. If you have an idea for a feature, they will work with you and make your life easier. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel every time, but if you find that’s what you want, they’ll help you do it.
