Keith May has been a licensed funeral director for 11 years, but his roots at Gilberg-Hartwig Funeral Home go back even further. Keith has handled most of the office work there for over a decade. So, when his previous software started feeling outdated and limiting, he knew it was time for a change.
After switching to Passare, Keith found a system that fit his workflow and was easier to use. From a dashboard that gives him an instant read on cases to integrations that eliminate double data entry, Passare has saved time and simplified Keith’s work.
Keep reading to see what it was like for Keith to switch over to Passare, and the features he’s seen the biggest benefits from so far.
Passare saves us a lot of time. I’ve used various software systems to manage most of the office work. But since switching to Passare, I’ve been really happy. The system is easy to use, and the training that we did to get set up was very helpful.
We always had some sort of technology or software in place to help with the management side of our business. The platform we used before Passare worked fine, but it was a bit outdated, and because of that, we felt that it was limiting us.
That’s when we started to look for something new. When we looked at Passare and saw all of the capabilities, along with the integrations available to tie our services together, it felt right to make the change. We were really excited to make the switch because we felt that Passare would make our lives easier, and it has.
When I first saw how much training was needed, I’ll admit I was intimidated. But the entire process was really nice. The implementation process at Passare made everything about the software make sense, and because of the training, we had a seamless transition.
Then, when we started using Passare daily, I didn’t have to worry about flubbing my way through tasks, because I already had a feel for the software.
I don’t remember getting the opportunity to do that with past software. It was always a situation of, “Here you go, good luck.” But with Passare’s structured onboarding plan, it made switching easy. I think it’s a really smart way to go about implementation.
Although I’ve used software for quite some time, I wouldn’t say I’m the most tech-savvy person in the world. Anytime I've needed something, the support team has been great and always gotten back to me really fast.
If I want a change made or if I have a question, I just call in, and there's always somebody to answer the phone. If they can't help me within a span of five minutes and have the problem fixed, it's done within a day. I really appreciate the promptness because usually, if I need something done, I need it done now. The team is always super friendly, very knowledgeable, and they always make you feel like you're the most important person when you call.
I can't say enough about how happy I am with Passare in regard to their support services.
We use several features in Passare that make a big difference in how we operate daily.
The main dashboard that pulls up when you first log in to Passare is super helpful because I can get my bearings on current cases so quickly. Before, we’d have to search for and open every single case to get the daily rundown. Passare makes this so much easier.
When I open the software, all of my cases are there, and I can easily see various information about them. There are even icons like exclamation marks that appear next to certain cases so that I can see which ones haven’t been closed with a quick glance.
It’s a small thing, but I just like being able to see everything in one place: the case number, the person, the dates, and especially the money that's owed at the end. It's really easy to scroll up and down the list of decedents to see who owes money and who's already paid.
We use the billing features in Passare all the time, and it's been great. In our previous software, we also had billing capabilities, but you had to print exactly what the system showed. You couldn’t make edits or customize the bill. It’s a small thing, but with Passare’s billing feature, I can pull the final bill up in Word, and if something is incorrect, I can make a correction. I can also customize the way things look if I want. It just makes the bill appear more professional when handing it to a customer.
I have had the same experience with Passare reports. All of the information is easily pulled into the report I want from the information in Passare, and then I can open it up in Excel and modify things if I want to. One report I run every month is our sales tax report. I also use pre-need reports to reach back out to families and generate new calls for us. It’s made reporting so much easier.
I love that Passare has a mobile app. If I get a call and I’m away from the office, I can still answer that family’s question by having access to that information on the app. I can scroll through my cases and access specific information while I’m out and about.
Honestly, Passare mobile was one of the reasons we made the switch, and I’ve been happy to have it.
We use several integrations in Passare, but there are a couple I’ve really loved. The Tukios integration to our website has been really nice because we upload information into Passare, and it moves over to Tukios easily without me having to enter information twice. We also experience the same time-saving benefits with the Tukios aftercare integration.
Absolutely. I tell people all the time about how happy I am with Passare. It's a breeze to work in now that I know where everything is, and it does everything that we need it to do. And it's relatively well-priced for the services that we get.
