4 moments you'll want to relive from NFDA 2024
October 28, 2024
Last week, New Orleans was busier than usual as thousands of funeral professionals gathered for NFDA. Five days of eye-opening sessions, innovative ideas, and an epic reunion with all of our friends went by way too fast.
That’s why we put together this recap to share our top takeaways (and best Mardi Gras moments) from NFDA 2024.
Ready to relive this year’s unforgettable convention? Here are our top 4 moments from last week:
#1: The informative sessions
The Passare team up bright and early for day 1 of convention!
There were so many great speakers and sessions at this year's convention, covering everything from how to improve leadership skills to data about today's funeral consumers.
The opening session was one of our favorites, where we kicked off the week with insightful statistics about how different generations view the funeral profession. Here are a few stats about Gen Z that might shock you:
55% of Gen Z feel funeral directors provide services that are valuable, compared to only 40% of Boomers!
37% of Gen Z want a casket burial after they pass away. Out of all the generations, they were the only group where the majority vote was for casket burial, and not cremation.
68% of Gen Z feel it’s important to hold a funeral or memorial service to commemorate the life of a loved one…which was a higher percentage than any other age group.

#2: The Mardi Gras floats
A big Mardi Gras welcome to New Orleans.
When in New Orleans, you can experience the city's vibrant culture by enjoying authentic jazz music or savoring delicious beignets. This week we were fully immersed in all things bright and colorful! For over 180 years, Mardi Gras floats have paraded the streets of New Orleans, and NFDA allowed us to experience the tradition ourselves at their welcome party.

#3: The creative marketing
Touring the expo hall to see all the creative marketing displays was a 10/10 experience. As we entered the convention center, we saw innovative advertising everywhere, from the escalators to the bathrooms (we're talking about you, Tukios! 😁).
When it comes to your funeral home, think of creative marketing ideas you can try in 2025! Whether it’s a digital billboard or going live in social media, never underestimate the power of marketing to increase brand awareness and build positive associations!

Of course, Passare had to hop on the escalator ads too. 😆
#4: The epic reunion with friends
Passare 🤝 Tukios
NFDA is the largest convention in funeral service - and this year, over 5,000 attendees and 300 vendors attended. That meant we got to have an epic reunion with all of our friends!
Between visiting with integration partners and seeing customers, we had an amazing time meeting everyone—not to mention all the new friends we made while there!

Oh, and we can’t forget the VIP mixer we hosted with Funeral Director’s Life. Yes, it was Mardi Gras-themed. 😆
What's a celebration without a feather boa?!
Thank you to everyone who dropped by to connect over appetizers and celebrate partnerships!
That's a wrap on NFDA!
As convention season comes to a close, we can't think of a better way to wrap up than with NFDA 2024. We hope you enjoyed reliving these memories and are looking forward to next year's event!
