What has been the biggest benefit to using Passare?

 

I have a deep appreciation for how much Passare condenses all aspects of my work into one platform. It streamlines everything. At the beginning of a month when I do all the accounting from the previous month, Passare makes the process so much easier because all the reports are generated at one time, and I can access information much more quickly.

 

What was your process like before switching to Passare?

 

We were using a small company that started in the eighties, which doesn’t even exist anymore. Everything was stored on hard drives, not cloud-based like Passare. I was constantly saving on external hard drives because if our computers crashed, we’d lose everything. When I attended a VIP trip to the Home Office in Abilene, I saw a presentation about Passare and thought, “When I get back, we’re signing up for that!”

 

What is a feature in Passare that you are loving right now?

I would have to say the credit card processing feature. It used to be that we only did three or four credit card transactions in a year’s time, but now, I run that many in a week. And honestly, we had become hesitant about taking credit card payments because, with our previous system, we might lose up to 20% in fees. With Passare’s credit card processing feature, there’s a flat 2.95% fee per transaction, which makes me ecstatic. Now, we can offer a simple payment option to families while also saving money for the funeral home. It’s a win-win.

 

Have you seen Passare help you increase your efficiency or save time?

 

Without a doubt. Because we are a small firm, one of my biggest responsibilities at the funeral home, outside of being a funeral director and an embalmer, is doing a lot of the administrative side of this place. I used to spend hours and hours doing accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, and taking payments – all of which takes a lot of time. With Passare, everything’s in one place, and it saves me hours every week of paperwork.

 

How has your customer service experience with Passare been?

 

Oh, out of scale of what – 10? I’d go with 11, because anytime I have an issue, I just send an email, or I call and get a quick response. Also, they email me once every couple of months just to ask if I need anything and find out how everything’s going. Without a doubt, that’s doing it right and I appreciate it.

 

If you were to talk to another funeral professional about Passare, what would you tell them?

 

I’d ask them if they want their life to be easier. Doing office work can be so time consuming, and Passare just makes it so much easier. If they do similar work to what I do, then it’s a no-brainer. Many firms have to hire additional staff just to keep up with all the paperwork and regulations. So, why wouldn’t you want to use a platform that puts everything into one system and just makes everything easier and faster? I cannot belabor that point enough.
